In honor of women's history month Prescott-Joseph Center For Community Enhancement is hosting their third annual multimedia all women's art exhibit. The exhibit, Ordinary Miracles, curated by Anna Edwards, honors the work of Tomye Madison-Neal and Jeannette Madden, and opens March 13th and will run thru April 4th, 2004.

Tomye Madison-Neal is a local artist, a graduate of More College of Art & Design, who has exhibited extensively, her art has appeared in print from poetry books to journals. She is a former curator of Art in the Convent, a major art show hosted each December by the Prescott Joseph Center and a regular participant in The Art of Living Black.

Jeanette Madden, a Bay Area native, studied art at Hayward State University. She has exhibited at Oakland's Crafts & Culture Gallery, The Art of Living Black Exhibition &Tour and Studio Museum in Harlem. She has also curated and exhibited in "Art in the Convent" here at Prescott Joseph. Jeanette is also the owner of Jeanette Madden Graphic Design.

This is the third year the beautiful Victorian has hosted this all female artistic revue. This years line up promises to continue the tradition of bringing some of the finest women artists of all genres together in one sumptuous elective bouquet. This is an event for the family and is an excellent reason to tour one of the finest undiscovered art and cultural centers in Oakland. Dr. Washington Burns the Executive Director of the Prescott-Joseph Center says, "The Prescott-Joseph Center is delighted to honor Tomye Madison Neal and Jeannette Madden, two of the area's outstanding artists. The art in the show complements these two honorees."

The exhibit held at the Prescott-Joseph Center, 920 Peralta St., Oakland, CA will culminate in an honors ceremony and reception on April 4th, 1-5PM, the event will feature, Ayodele 'WordSlanger' Nzinga, Mechelle La Chaux the Blue Jazz Diva, and Tarika Lewis renowned Jazz violinist in live female performance art ensemble.

The event is free to the public. Art may be viewed Monday through Saturday 1 - 5 PM starting March 13th, 2004.
