Events in the Oakland Area

To celebrate our 14th year in business, ARTworkSF will move into a premiere gallery space in the heart of Union Square. Located at 49 Geary, it provides ARTworkSF with a 1375sf traditional gallery aesthetic and professional office environment.

The Main Gallery is a professionally lighted space that will host group and solo shows. Floor to ceiling widows will flood the corporate presentations area with natural light for corporate clients to veiw over 300 additional artworks available for rent or purchase on site. Our 12'x12', "Print Room" niche, will be dedicated to photography and print media and we are excited about the possibilities of it becoming 'another photo destination gallery' at 49 Geary.

The gallery location affords our artists a unique opportunity for furthering their individual art careers through exposure to other galleries in the building. Our 2nd floor location is home to Catharine Clark Gallery, and Urbis Artium Gallery and our neighbors include Brian Gross Fine Art, Robert Koch Gallery, Stephen Wirtz Gallery and Scott Nichols Gallery. We are in good company!

There are lots of other changes underway. We are currently utilizing the consulting services of the San Francisco Small Business Administration to further develop our new business model. We have hired DesignC60 to redesign our website infrastructure. This new Content Management System will greatly improve the way we manage our artists' web pages. It will allow each artists and our Webmaster to upload and update the portfolio pages - instantly! Thanks to Filemaker professional and "Information Architect", Richard Burton, our staff can now access the art inventory database online - 24/7.

Our exhibits programs will continue and we anticipate that number to grow exponentially. Currently we have 23 venues to manage and over 1000 works to rotate each month. Our goal is to have the largest and most diverse art inventory of any art resource in the Bay Area.

I hope you are as excited as we are about our new home, the changes we have made and what is happening on the horizon. As I write this, the demolition has just finished and we're now beginning the tennant improvements phase. We expect to be moving in sometime in June just in time for our first 'First Thursday' in July.

Expect to receive more information about new programs and services as we reorganize and get ready to expand!
